A Lifetime Connected to Water

About Him - A Bit More Personally

As mentioned earlier, over 25 years of his life have been tied to water. He’s worked in numerous countries, visited 58 nations, and set foot on 6 continents. He served as a lifeguard on a Disney Cruise Line ship. Krzysztof thrives in nature and is a fan of sports, yoga, various breathing techniques, and cold-water dips. He speaks Polish, English, and Spanish fluently

His second passion is travel. Out of the countries he’s visited, he’s worked in Poland, England, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA, Australia, and on the Disney Cruise Line. He’s crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice on a cruise ship from Miami to Spain. While passing the Titanic wreck off the coast of Canada, resting 4 km below the surface, he says he still gets chills.

Twice, the crew of the ship he was on rescued castaways attempting to reach the USA from Cuba. He’s swum with whale sharks in the Philippines and dived in Iceland’s Silfra Lake, known for its crystal-clear water with over 100 meters of visibility. He’s slept in the Thai jungle (where mosquito bites gave him dengue fever).

His third passion are yoga and mountains. He actively practices yoga, aiming to master a full split, and conquers peaks in the Polish Tatra Mountains in both summer and winter. He’s also an enthusiast of cold-water bathing.

How Did His Journey with Water Begin?

Krzysztof’s adventure with swimming started at age 10 and continues to this day. From a young age, he stood out with exceptional motor skills and boundless energy that needed an outlet. His PE teachers recommended enrolling him in a sports school to nurture his athletic talents. He also had some spine issues at the time.

His mother decided to sign him up for a sports school with a swimming focus, as his neighbor was already attending one. Krzysztof seemed to have ideal physical attributes. During entrance tests, his results far exceeded those of his peers—often off the charts—making him one of the top performers in his group. At first, he didn’t even realize the school specialized in swimming!

Olympic medalist Agnieszka Czopek spotted his potential, despite his limited swimming ability at the time. Early on, he wasn’t as strong in the pool as he was on land. His first Polish Championship race at age 11 placed him 365th, but just a year later, he climbed to 10th place. After two years of training, he won a gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke at the Polish Championships for 13-year-olds.

Krzysztof began daily swim training at the age of 10. Outside the pool, he often played soccer with friends after school, as his energy was boundless. During his 12-year competitive swimming career, he spent 8 years training intensively for five hours a day. His routine started with morning pool sessions, followed by school, and then an afternoon session that included an hour of dryland training and two more hours in the water. With such a demanding schedule, there wasn’t much time left for other sports, and his personal and family life revolved around training.

At times, he swam up to 14 kilometers a day—equivalent to 560 lengths of a 25-meter pool. His personal record was an incredible 9.2 kilometers in a single session during a training camp in Tunisia. Combined with a second session of the day, where he swam 8 kilometers, he achieved a total of 17 kilometers of swimming in one day.

He ended his professional swimming career in 2009 but continued training recreationally for another three years, though not at the same intense level as during his competitive days.

Trained by the Best

Kris’s competitive swimming journey began at age 10 at the School of Sports Mastery School in Kraków. Over his 12-year career, he had the privilege of training under some of Poland’s most outstanding coaches at one of the country’s top schools. At age 10 his first coach was Agnieszka Czopek, an Olympic medalist from the 1980 Moscow Games.

He then spent five years under the guidance of Marian Tomanik, a participant in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. His final year at the Sports Mastery School was with Maria Jakóbik, coach of Olympic Champion and world record holder Otylia Jędrzejczak (200m butterfly), and a three-time coach of the Polish national team at the Barcelona (1992), Atlanta (1996), and Sydney (2000) Olympics.

While studying at the University School of Physical Education in Wrocław, he trained with Piotr Albiński, an Olympian from Barcelona (1992), bronze medalist at the 1993 World Championships, and multiple Polish champion and record holder in long-distance freestyle. Albiński was the first Pole in history to swim 1500m in under 15 minutes, achieving a time of 14:53.63 on January 22, 1992.

Water - His Element

Water is his passion. His adventure with swimming started when he was 10 years old and continues to this day. He has been involved with water in various forms for more than 25 years. Water is his element, he feels like a fish in it. He loves the sea and everything connected with it.

He values safety and a positive atmosphere during lessons. Beyond teaching swimming as a valuable skill, his goal is to ensure you enjoy the learning process.

“I want swimming to be an unforgettable experience that brings you joy!”

“I approach every person holistically. It’s not just about the results—it’s about the positive experiences you gain during the lessons.”

Mission

“To enable those who want to swim to learn in a safe and enjoyable way.”

It’s incredibly important to Krzysztof that you not only gain practical skills but also find pleasure in the process. He takes a holistic approach to training, seeing you as a whole person, not just through the lens of swimming. He’s dedicated to finding the simplest methods and the best exercises to help you master technical elements effectively.

“It’s Never Too Late to Learn to Swim”

When asked, “Am I too old to swim?” Kris always responds, “It’s never too late to learn!” His students range from 3 years old to a remarkable 77-year-old participant. That oldest student reached a point where she could swim independently and visit the pool on her own—swimming became her passion, and she went nearly every day. If you’re worried you might be “too old” to learn, let me assure you—you’re not! Sure, it might be easier as a child with less fear of water, but that doesn’t mean you can’t succeed as an adult.

“Swimming Is a Safe Sport for Everyone”

Even if you’re nervous about water, lessons are conducted in a highly safe environment—on the shallow end with the instructor in the water when needed. Swimming is an incredibly safe sport. You can’t fall or break anything; the worst that might happen is brushing against a lane line. Injuries are rare, and the swimmer’s body, thanks to the horizontal position and unique environment, is constantly supported. That’s why it’s a sport for everyone!

“Master Swimming to Fully Enjoy Your Vacations”

Kris often hears stories of clients who go on vacation but avoid the water or only wade in up to their ankles. His mission is to help you fully embrace your holidays and the wonders of water. Beyond its health benefits, swimming offers practical skills to enjoy water-based vacations safely. During lessons, he focuses on floating, staying upright in the water with your head above the surface, and swimming safely to shore. These abilities boost your confidence and equip you to handle situations like reaching the shore or staying afloat in deep water. With these skills, you won’t panic—even if you get a cramp, you’ll manage with ease. Take the plunge with Krzysztof and discover your own potential in the water—your journey starts here!
